We have two simple methods we've used to get food to people in need:
We buy $10-$15 meal cards for people we come across who need a meal when we may not be prepared or don't have the time to give them as much of our attention as we would like.
We purchase multiple meals at once and distribute them to people around the city who need a meal—mostly those experiencing homelessness.
We want to serve widows, those with disabilities, children, and immigrants who need help. We aim to provide small services or help with minor projects when we can, and this often involves minor home repairs or simply offering presence and support to someone who may be feeling isolated.
There have been many times when people with children face eviction even while living in a downsized home and living a downsized lifestyle. Often, they are short on a rent payment or a large utility bill due to unforeseen circumstances. We want to help with this when we can.
We are always wanting to stay open to whatever someone’s immediate need may be, so we keep ourselves open to needs that may not fit neatly into a category we’re used to.
